How Quick Pay starts
Quick Pay starts when staff marks an active table session ready for payment. The system creates a bill location that can be opened from a staff QR, a payment link, or the table tbltag.
- The active table bill can include guest-submitted orders and staff-entered orders.
- Guests do not need to have ordered through the tbltap menu to pay through Quick Pay.
- When the table is in billing mode, scanning or tapping the table tag can open the bill instead of the browsing menu.
Split-bill capabilities
Split bill flows help a restaurant collect payment without forcing every guest into the same checkout path.
- Full-bill payment lets one guest pay the active table balance.
- Equal split can create separate shares so multiple guests can each pay a portion of the table bill.
- By-item split can assign selected bill items to specific guests when the restaurant uses that split flow.
- Taxes, fees, and totals are calculated through the active payment flow and may be allocated proportionally depending on the split method.
Adding guests to the split
Guests who were not part of the original menu order can still be added to the payment moment when the table bill is ready.
- Staff should first make sure the guest items are on the active table bill.
- Guests can scan the table tag or a staff-provided QR/link to reach the current Quick Pay or split-bill option.
- When a split is available, guests can pay the assigned share or selected items from their own device.
- Staff should monitor payment status and only close the session after the expected full or split payments are complete.
Best practices
Clear service habits reduce payment confusion and support tickets during busy shifts.
- Confirm the table, subtotal, taxes, fees, and visible items before marking the bill ready.
- Explain whether the guest should pay the whole bill, an equal share, or selected items.
- Use one table session for the party and close it after settlement so the tbltag returns to the expected next-party flow.
- Never ask guests to send full card details to staff or support.
