Tag license basics
Tbltags are licensed products. Ordering tags is the purchase path for the license to use those tags with the restaurant account; it is not a sale of unrestricted ownership.
- A restaurant receives the right to use the ordered tags with the restaurant account and service area they were purchased for.
- Tags are not transferable to another restaurant, owner, account, or location without a new license purchase through the tag ordering flow or a support-approved process.
- Do not resell, give away, or move licensed tags outside the account context they were ordered for.
Plan tag placement
Tags should be easy for guests to see and use while staying mapped to the correct restaurant and table context.
- Decide which tables, counters, or service areas need licensed tags before ordering.
- Place tags where guests can scan or tap without moving service items.
- Avoid swapping physical tags between tables unless the assignment is updated too.
Activate and test
A tag should be tested from a guest device before service so staff know it opens the expected menu or table flow.
- Open the tag, confirm the restaurant, and confirm any table context.
- Replace damaged tags or contact support when a tag routes incorrectly.
- Keep an internal note of which tag belongs to each table.
